Sustain Group Forms For Medical Cannabis

An original sustain group has produced for medical cannabis patients.

The Corvallis Cannabis Support Group had its initial gathering last week, with five people in presence. Organizer Ed Glick is eager the journal meetings will cultivate as word gets out.

"I think the need has been about for a long time as of the disjointed services and require of services that endure to help marijuana patients," Glick said.

Glick, an ex-nurse and longtime supporter for medical marijuana, said the reason of the group is to help people conclude whether marijuana could be useful for their medical circumstances and offer a sympathetic environment for conversation of difficulties encountered in working with doctors.

Even though the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program has issued almost 56,000 cards to endorsed patients, Glick said, precise in order about the herb's therapeutic benefits can still be hard to come by - even from physicians.

"There's no reason for these thousands of patients to be unobserved by the medical institution," Glick said.

Glick emphasized that no cannabis use is permitted at the meetings.

"This is not a place for people to come and smoke pot," Glick said. "I'm hoping this hold group would be anywhere somebody's grandmother would be comfortable to come in and get answers."

The Corvallis Cannabis Support Group meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in the offices of CAN! Research, Education and Consulting, 551 S.W. Fourth St. The next meeting will be Sept. 11.
